What is considered a work of feminist literature or film?

To answer this question would first require one to define what feminism is and what it means to be a feminist. Feminism, in the most liberal sense, is defined as the belief in social, political, legal and economic equality among sexes. A feminist is one who advocates for equal rights of women. A work of literature or film is defined as feminist when, that piece illuminates the role women play in the social, political, legal and economic realm.
