Assignment Number 1 / Jasmine Nieves

A feminist work of Literature consists of ideas from women that go against the traditional practices or beliefs that have barred women from gaining equality. Feminism is a movement aimed at defining political, social, and equality among women of all races and ethinicities. A feminist text aims at forming a relationship with the reader. It attempts to provide the reader whether male or female, to become more open minded and understand why women need equaility. It also presents the reader to the history and misunderstandings of what a feminist really is and why feminism was formed.

  1. I especially like your emphasis, Jasmine, on the reader, and the relationship formed with her through her encounter with the "feminist text."
